Cool Meadow Farm
Born into a small-time farming family, Anthony Duggins had the core values of family, faith, and hard work instilled in him at a young age. For years, the Duggins grew tobacco, wheat, and corn while raising cattle and hogs to make ends meet. Though Anthony stepped away from farming in his early 20s to explore other paths, he never truly left it behind. “When you’re born into farming,” he says, “it’s engrained in you.” Eventually, the pull of a simpler, more grounded life brought him back.
Purchasing the 100+ acres of property that he had leased and tended as a teenager, Anthony got to work making a space for the community to come visit. Cool Meadow Farm’s mission is simple yet powerful - show others that farming is hard work and a whole lot of fun. “You can teach the technicals in classrooms,” Anthony explains, “but to truly understand the impact of farming, people need to experience it firsthand.”
