Kubota Officially Opens Doors for New Western Distribution Center in Elk Grove

12/12/2023 Categories: All

ELK GROVE, Calif. (December 12, 2023) – Kubota Tractor Corporation (KTC) celebrated today the grand opening of its 45-acre Western Distribution Center in Elk Grove, California. The new facility replaces Kubota’s former facility in Lodi, California, to better meet the increasing need for more Kubota equipment for the company’s Western Division dealers and customers. Kubota has invested more than $70 million to bring the new facility online and has expanded to more than 100 employees over the past year, with plans to continue that growth in the coming years.

The impressive 631,465-square-foot state-of-the-art facility is built on sustainable principles in keeping with the company’s global mission to use technology to optimize efficient operations. The facility will house offices, training classrooms, and a distribution network for farming, construction, and turf equipment, as well as repair parts destined for Kubota dealers and customers throughout the West, ultimately catering to the evolving needs of Kubota’s diverse customer base.

“We began more than 50 years ago as a tractor company for small farmers, and today Kubota’s equipment can be found in every rural landscape, suburban neighborhood, and urban cityscape in America,” said Mr. Shingo Hanada, President, Kubota Tractor and Kubota North America Corporations during Tuesday’s grand opening ceremony. “In fact, you often see our iconic orange equipment on flatbed trucks going down Highway 99 or up I-5 on their way to build or shape someone’s American dream. We are committed to expanding our product lines and building needed infrastructure to better meet the needs of customers and dealers throughout the West.”

For Elk Grove Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen, the city’s newest addition is a huge win for the community.

“We are excited to welcome Kubota’s Western Distribution Center to Elk Grove,” said Mayor Singh-Allen. “Today’s grand opening will generate an economic ripple effect for the region, benefiting local hotels, restaurants, and retail shops. This significant investment in infrastructure brings job creation, innovation and sustained economic vitality to our community, opening the door for boundless opportunities in the future.”

Kyle Hagen, Western Division Manager, Kubota Tractor Corporation, spoke about the new Elk Grove facility meeting a growing demand for KTC.

“The most important aspects to bringing this new facility online are for our dealer network to better support their local communities with sales, service and support, and by moving more product through Elk Grove for the benefit of all our Western states customers,” said Hagen. “And for our employees, bringing them a state-of-the-art, efficient and well-run facility, as we’re always working to remain a top employer of choice in the region.”

The new campus is an extension of the company’s existing divisional operation structure that provides regional support for Kubota's 1,100-strong dealer network. Kubota’s other division offices are located in Suwanee, Ga.; Fort Worth, Texas; Columbus, Ohio; and Edgerton, Kansas.
